How does this method work? A Certified OB/GYN inserts a thin tube into your uterus, through the cervix. A mild pressure is applied with a hand-held manual aspiration device. The contents of the uterus will then be removed. The first pill blocks pregnancy hormones from acting on your uterus. This stops the pregnancy from developing. The second set of pills causes the cervix to dilate and the uterus to contract so that the pregnancy is terminated.

How long does it take? One visit to our offices. The procedure takes 2-5 minutes. After the procedure, a repeat ultrasound will confirm the termination of the pregnancy. A follow-up visit is scheduled only as needed or per patient preference. Usually 2 visits to our office. You have the option of taking the first pill in the office or in the privacy of your own home. You then take the second set of pills at home. This causes an early miscarriage, usually within hours of taking the second pills, but sometimes it can take longer. You then come back to our offices for a follow-up visit one week later to confirm the termination of pregnancy by a repeat ultrasound

Will I bleed a lot? Women usually experience light bleeding from 1-7 days off and on. Women usually experience heavier bleeding than their periods during the miscarriage.
